The TD Training Collaboratory funded in 2021 by the US National Science Foundation brings together pioneering researchers and trainers from regional centers across the globe. Drawing upon their collective experience, the group developed the guide, and pilot tested its use at various conferences and institutes: Sustainability Research and Innovation conferences in Panama (2023) and Helsinki (2024), Australia National University (Canberra, Australia), Future Africa (Pretoria, South Africa) and Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (Kyoto, Japan).  In the grant’s final phase in 2024, the TD Training Collaboratory approached the ITD Alliance about adding the guide to the resources menu of their website since many members of the Collaboratory are also members of the Alliance.
