Membership

The ITD Alliance is a membership-based organisation composed of a dynamically growing community of experts and institutions engaged in collaborative modes of research and education. The ITD Alliance is open for all institutions and individuals engaged in and willing to promote collaborative modes of research and education.

All institutional and individual members contribute to strengthening the Alliance in order to advance collaborative modes of research and education globally.

Institutional Membership

Benefits of institutional membership include:
– Global visibility as an institutional leader in the practice, promotion and development of collaborative modes of research and education
– A stronger, collective voice when informing change in research, education and funding policy affecting inter- and transdisciplinarity
– Opportunities to network and share experiences and resources with like-minded institutions
– Opportunities to shape the future direction of ITD Alliance activities for global impact
– Free individual memberships for a number of employees and students, dependent on the size of the institution

*starting point for these fee categories is the World Bank classification of countries link. Other institutional variables (size, funding schemes) and regional contexts (e.g. serving underprivileged groups or regions) can be taken into account.

Donor memberships to support the ITD Alliance start at CHF 5’000.

The membership term is 12 months from the month application is approved. Renewal invoices will be sent the month prior to the end of the term.

Departments, institutions, or research group that are sub-sets of a larger institution may use the size of their group to determine their fees and benefits.

Individual Membership

Membership is open for all individuals engaged in or interested in collaborative modes of research and education.

Benefits include:
○ being part of a dynamically growing community of experts and leading institutions in inter- and transdisciplinarity
○ receiving a reduced conference fee for the ITD conferences
○ participation in working groups
○ being visible on the ITD Alliance webpage
○ electing the members of the leadership board
○ getting access to the member area on our website

Membership fee for individuals:

Annual fee: CHF 100.

Annual reduced fee for students, individuals from low-income contexts, retired, and unemployed: CHF 40

A limited number of fee waivers is available to foster diversity and enable participation while in difficult financial conditions (by request for a decision by the Leadership Board)

Membership will be active for 12 months from the month payment is received. Renewal invoices will be sent in the month prior to the expiration month.

Membership registrations through the ITD24 conference are valid until August 2025 (or 2026 for 2-year memberships).
